Cytokine Response of the Biomimetic Porcine Urothelial Model to Different Escherichia coli Strains

چکیده

Escherichia coli is known to be an important uropathogenic agent. Several models were developed for investigating the uropathogensis of E. coli, including recent biomimetic porcine urothelial in vitro model. The aim this study was assess cytokine response cells model different strains. production nine cytokines infection evaluated using commercial pre-configured immunoassay multiplex Cytokine & Chemokine 9-Plex Porcine ProcartaPlex™ Panel 1 kit. Our results showed that reacted presence all employed strains, albeit with some differences levels and types produced. Increased IL-10, IL-8, TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-4 IL-12p40 observed. Statistical analysis (Fisher’s exact test) revealed a correlation between high fold change immune cnf1 gene encodes cytotoxic necrotizing factor. shed light on normal strains have potential fuel search understanding mechanisms behind responses

Comparison of different assays for definition of heat-stable enterotoxigenicity of Escherichia coli porcine strains.

Ninety-one Escherichia coli strains isolated from porcine neonatal diarrhea, representing 28 O-groups and rough and non-O-groupable strains, were examined for enterotoxigenicity (heat stable [ST] or heat labile [LT]) by using bacterial suspensions in intestinal loop tests in 3- to 7-week-old piglets and culture supernatant fluids in the Y1 adrenal cell test, the 18-h rabbit intestinal loop test...

Complete Genome Sequences of Two Porcine Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli Strains

Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC) is one of the main causes of illness and death in neonatal and recently weaned pigs. Here, we sequenced the genomes of two ETEC strains that were previously used as inactivated vaccines in China.

Phylogenetic analysis of Escherichia coli strains isolated from human samples

Escherichia coli (E. coli) is a normal inhabitant of the gastrointestinal tract of vertebrates, including humans. Phylogenetic analysis has shown that E. coli is composed of four main phylogenetic groups (A, B1, B2 and D). Group A and B1 are generally associated with commensals, whereas group B2 is associated with extra-intestinal pathotypes. Most enteropathogenic isolates, however, are assigne...

Genes coding for enterotoxins and verotoxins in porcine Escherichia coli strains belonging to different O:K:H serotypes: relationship with toxic phenotypes.

Seventy-four E. coli strains isolated from piglets with diarrhea or edema disease in Spain were serotyped and examined for production of heat-labile (LT) and heat-stable (ST) enterotoxins (LT-I, LT-II, STaH, STaP, and STb) and verotoxins (VT1, VT2, and VT2v = VTe) by phenotypic (Vero cell assay and infant mouse test) and genotypic (colony hybridization and PCR) methods. In general, an excellent...

The relationship between two apparently different enterotoxins produced by enteropathogenic strains of Escherichia coli of porcine origin.

This enterotoxin retained most of its activity after 30 min. at 1OO"C, but was inactivated after 30 min. at 121°C. It will therefore be referred to as the heat-stable enterotoxin or ST. Although ST could occasionally be detected intracellularly in bacteria grown on soft agar cultures, it was mainly extracellular. In some strains of E. coIi its production was controlled by a transmissible plasmi...
